Professional Experience
Michael Johnson was named senior vice president and
chief administrative officer in May 2002. Johnson
joined Williams in December 1998 as senior vice president
of human resources and administration. Reporting
to the chairman and CEO, he is responsible for leading
all aspects of the company’s shared services
units, which include information technology,
human resources, corporate real estate and facilities,
enterprise sourcing, security, aviation and community
relations. Mr. Johnson is also chairman of the board
for the Williams Foundation.
Prior to joining Williams,
Johnson held officer level positions for Amoco Corporation,
including vice president of human resources. He also
held professional, managerial and executive positions
with Martin Marietta Corporation. Johnson started as
a human resources trainee with the RCA Corporation
in 1969.
Education
Johnson graduated from North Carolina Central University
in 1969 with a bachelor’s in business administration
and is also a graduate of the Advanced Executive Program
from the Kellogg School of Business at NorthwesternUniversity.
Industry/Community Leadership
Johnson is a director of the QuikTrip Corporation,
Oklahoma Affiliate Board of Health Care Service Corporation
and Buffalo Wild Wings. His current community involvement
includes serving as chair of the Boardof Trustees
of Oklahoma State University-Tulsa, trustee of Bethune-Cookman
College, board member of the Executive Leadership
Foundation, board member of the Oklahoma Conference
for Community and Justice and boardmember of the
Tiger Woods Foundation.
Johnson previously served
the community in positions such as board chairman
for the Metropolitan Orlando Urban League, member
of the Board of Visitors of North Carolina Central
University, board member of the Tulsa Community College
Foundation, board chairman of the
Foundation for Tulsa Schools, board member of the Tulsa
Industrial Authority, board member of the Orlando Aviation
Authority and director of the Amoco Foundation.

Experience
Johnson has been an active public speaker for morethan
20 years at venues such as human resources professional
organizations, university settings and various community
groups. He is apassionate speaker and enjoys presenting
on topics ranging from Williams’ Core Values & Beliefs
and human capital development to strategic business
planning and corporate organizational change.
